HPD: Man and woman injured near Alief taco stand in drive-by shooting

Police said at least 12 shots were fired and that the shooting may have been targeted.

HOUSTON. A man and a woman were shot dead from a passing taco stand. Houston Police Department.

It happened around 11:50 pm Saturday on Wilcrest Street near the intersection with Bichnat Street in the Alif area.

Police said a man and a woman were standing at a taco counter buying food when two men in a red pickup truck drove by and shot several times at them.

The man was wounded in the arm and the woman in the leg. Both of them were taken to the hospital, and according to the police, everything is fine.

According to Police Lieutenant Leon, the man could be targeted by someone he knows.

“He thinks he might know one of those who shot him, but he’s not sure,” Leon said.

Police stated that at least 12 shots were fired and that they believed some sort of rifle was used in the incident.

The investigation into the shooting continues.
