Another concert has been added to the 2023 lineup at St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater at Lakeview.

The Goo Goo Dolls and O.A.R. will perform at St. Joe’s Amp in Syracuse on Aug. 16, the rock bands announced Monday. Their “The Big Night Out” summer tour dates also include Upstate New York stops on Aug. 6 at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts and Aug. 8 at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC) in Saratoga Springs.

“I’m so proud to finally be able to announce our summer tour with a great band and our friends O.A.R.,” Goo Goo Dolls singer John Rzeznik said. “It’s going to be an amazing night of great music for everyone so BE THERE!!!”

Rzeznik and Robby Takac formed the Goo Goo Dolls in Buffalo in 1986, first hitting it big with the top 10 song “Name” from their 1995 breakout album “A Boy Named Goo.” The Grammy-nominated rock band, who’ll play a free New Year’s Eve concert in Niagara Falls, is known for hits like “Iris,” “Slide,” “Broadway,” “Black Balloon,” “Let Love In,” “Better Days,” “Here is Gone” and “Dizzy.”

O.A.R. is an alternative rock band best known for 2008′s “Shattered (Turn the Car Around)” and the fan favorite “That Was a Crazy Game of Poker.”

It’s the fifth concert on the Syracuse amphitheater’s 2023 schedule so far. The Amp had 20 concerts in 2022.
