Florida man pleads guilty to a felony on January 6

WASHINGTON, DC — A Florida man today pleaded guilty to felony charges for his actions during the Jan. 6, 2021 US Capitol break-in.

Howard Adams, 62, of Edgewater, Florida, pleaded guilty to interfering with law enforcement officials during a civil unrest in U.S. District Court.

According to court documents, on the afternoon of January 6, 2021, Adams illegally approached the Capitol building after a group of rioters broke through a security line. He was inside for about an hour.

Around 3:00 pm that same day, Adams made physical contact with a security guard who tried to push him to the exit.

He left the building at 15:15.

Adams’ sentencing hearing is set for March 31. He faces a maximum of five years in prison.
