Fatal crash on Highway 17 in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

A fatal crash on Highway 17 north in the Santa Cruz Mountains closed an exit ramp and hampered traffic on a busy highway Tuesday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash, reportedly a rollover, occurred on North Highway 17 at the El Rancho Drive exit, CHP said.

Drivers have been advised to take alternative routes while CHP investigates the crash.
