El Sereno stabbing victim speaks out
A man who was stabbed six times in a brazen, unprovoked attack told KCAL News.
Daniel Villalobos became the second victim of an accidental knife wound. The 32-year-old father of three was leaving his El Sereno apartment to go to work on March 3 when he was attacked outside his home.
The suspect, caught on CCTV, allegedly stabbed a 17-year-old just hours earlier in another random attack.
Villalobos fought the suspect in the middle of the road, but no one came to his aid until he ran and called for help. Paramedics took him to the hospital with serious injuries and he thought he might not survive. However, he fought and is now recovering.
Villalobos said on Friday that he works as a water worker and tries to stay positive. His friends organized a fundraiser to help him in his time of need.
The suspect is currently behind bars and an investigation is underway.
