Dallas-Fort Worth drivers are paying 10c more per gallon since Tuesday morning as crude oil price jumped overnight

Fort Worth – Dallas, TX – North Texas drivers are paying 10c more per gallon on average since Tuesday morning as crude oil price jumped overnight.

According to AAA, a gallon of gas in the Dallas-Fort Worth area reached $4.30 on average, which is 10c more since Tuesday morning.

A gallon of gas on Monday was sold at $4.20 on average, while last week the average gas price in the area was sitting at $4.14.

AAA said volatile crude oil prices coupled with the fact that refineries are switching over to the more expensive summer blend of gasoline is adding to the upward pressure on prices.

West Texas intermediate crude oil price for a barrel jumped to $114 overnight, which is more than $14 compared to last week when the price at one point had fallen below the $100 mark.

Experts say drivers will continue to pay expensive gas at least in the near future.
