CNO Bon Secours Mercy Health retires after 40 years in healthcare

Andrea Mazzoccoli, MD, RN, chief nurse and quality specialist at Bon Secours Mercy Health in Cincinnati, will retire in June after 15 years in the healthcare system and 40 years in the profession.

In 2022 Becker called Dr. Mazzoccoli one of the best nurses in the country.

She has received several awards throughout her career, including as a Johnson & Johnson Wharton Fellow, a Robert Wood Johnson Fellow, and an American Academy of Nursing Fellow, according to a press release published with Becker.

Dr. Mazzoccoli also served as a magnetic assessor for the American Nursing Assessment Center.

After her retirement, she will continue to serve as an adjunct faculty member at Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing.
