Central NY bus collides with truck, killing 6 in North Country

Louisville, New York. The bus involved in the truck accident that left six people dead and three hospitalized on Saturday belongs to a solar panel company in Central New York.

A 2021 Freightliner box truck and a 2013 express bus collided around 6 a.m. on Highway 37 in St. Lawrence County, according to a state police press release. The crash occurred west of Massena, near the Saint Lawrence River.

The military confirmed that six people were killed, one person is in critical condition, and two others were seriously injured. According to security officials, all nine were traveling by bus.

According to WWNYTV, the bus belonged to LBFNY. According to eyewitnesses, there was a company logo on the bus.

LBFNY is a solar panel company headquartered in Cayuga County, according to the company’s website, and has two projects in a nearby area of ​​Madrid that is less than 25 minutes from the crash.

In a job posting, LBFNY says it provides transportation for workers to and from work sites, as well as transportation to key locations such as grocery stores.

The St. Lawrence County Emergency Response Service initiated the county’s mass casualty plan and 15 ambulances were dispatched to the scene, WWNYTV reported. The wounded were taken to at least three district hospitals.
