Catbird Music Festival at the Original Woodstock Venue: See the line-up for a two-day concert in upstate New York.

The line-up for the new music festival at the original Woodstock venue in upstate New York has been announced.

The first Catbird Music Festival will take place August 19-20, 2023 at the historic field in Bethel, NY. The Lumineers will headline on Saturday 19 August and Tyler Childers on Sunday 20 August; the music will start at noon on both days and will continue throughout the day.

The rest of the lineup includes the Trey Anastasio Band, The War on Drugs, Band of Horses, Trampled by Turtles, Margo Price, James Bay, Dispatch, Amos Lee, Morgan Wade and Charley Crockett.

Advance ticket sales will be available starting Wednesday, March 8 at 10:00 AM; fans can sign up for a pre-sale code at catbirdmusicfestival.com. Tickets will go on sale to the general public at a later date.

Prices start at $140 for a one-day general admission and $199 for a two-day pass. There will also be VIP tickets (starting at $375 for one day), Platinum Passes (starting at $1,250 for both days), and premium camping, glamping, RV, and parking options; public daytime parking is free.

It’s unclear exactly where fans will be able to camp, but the festival’s website mentions both the Bethel Woods Arts Center and the “historic 1969 Woodstock site”. Bethel Woods CEO Eric Francis told regional tourism officials earlier this month that the event would take place at Max Yasgur’s farm in Bethel, NY; The Bethel Woods Amphitheater is located near Yasgur’s Farm and is home to the Woodstock Museum.

This will be the first camping and music event on the famous course since the Woodstock Music and Art Fair in 1969. In addition to music, the new two-day event will include “local food and liquor offerings.”

The original Woodstock festival drew over 400,000 people to a dairy farm near White Lake in 1969. Three days of “peace, love and music” included legendary performances by Janis Joplin, Richie Havens, Jefferson Airplane, The Who, Joan Baez, Jimi Hendrix. , Santana, Joe Cocker, Grateful Dead and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young.

Woodstock again attended the 1994 Saugerties and 1999 Rome, New York festivals with contemporary lineups featuring rock, nu metal, hip hop and dance acts. Woodstock 50, the 50th anniversary concert featuring Jay-Z, Miley Cyrus and Santana, fell apart in 2019 due to organizational issues, missed payments and setbacks at the venue in Watkins Glen and later Vernon Downs.

In 2019, the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts hosted its own 50th Anniversary celebration, featuring original artists such as Santana, John Fogerty and Arlo Guthrie. Upcoming shows at Bethel Woods include James Taylor (June 29), Robert Plant & Alison Krauss (July 1), Shania Twain (July 3), Big Time Rush (July 7), Jason Aldin (July 14), The Chicks (8 August). 3), Goo Goo Dolls (August 6), Zac Brown Band (August 12), Joe Bonamassa & Styx with Don Felder (August 13), Sam Hunt (August 24) and Rod Stewart with Cheap Trick (September 1).
