Castaic man died while walking on I-5
California Highway Patrol officers said a 21-year-old man was killed after he was hit by a 2019 Ford Transit 250 van while walking on the northern lanes of Interstate 5 in Castaic.
A 57-year-old man from Stevenson’s ranch pulled over and called 911 after the collision, reported at 2:47 a.m.
The coroner’s office website identified the deceased as Lance Lott, a resident of Castaic. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lott was hit and killed on the north side of the road, near commercial law enforcement agency Castaic, according to an incident report from CHP Newhall regional office. It is currently unknown if Lott was damaged during the crash, causing the SigAlert to last approximately five hours on Saturday.
This accident is being investigated by Newhall’s office. Any witnesses may contact the office at 661-600-1600.
