Bush IAH: Terminal C Fire Smells Smoke, Possible Delays
Bush IAH said in a tweet that the fire originated in Terminal C and was put out by the Houston Fire Department. They say travelers may notice the smell of smoke and this could cause delays for United passengers when things return to normal.
Airport officials tell KHOU 11 that the fire call came in at 5:10 a.m. and, at United’s request, inbound flights were delayed until 7:30 a.m. This ground stop is no longer active.
No injuries were reported. The Houston Fire Department is investigating.
The fire in the laundry room of Terminal C has been extinguished. @HoustonFire. There may still be a lingering smell of smoke. United Airlines passengers may be delayed as operations return to normal this morning. Please check your flight status if you are arriving in IAH.
