Buc-ee’s to Build New Visitor Center at Hillsborough 7th in North Texas

Buc-ee’s says they will begin construction later this month on a new visitor center in Hillsboro, their seventh in North Texas, scheduled to open in summer 2024.

On Tuesday, January 24 at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at 1:00 p.m., at the corner of Interstate 35 and U.S. Route 77, south of the I-35 E/W junction, the gas station giant said it would lay the groundwork for a visitor center 74,000 square feet. .

“Hillsborough is one of the best forks in the road we have ever seen and as a bonus they have a beautiful historic courthouse!” Stan Bird of Buc-ee’s said. “Whether you’re heading to Fort Worth and West Texas or Dallas and East Texas, you can make a stop at Buc-ee in and out. The City of Hillsborough and Hill County have been such great partners and we look forward to being a great neighbor for years to come.”

The Hillsboro Buc-ees, which was first hinted at in April 2022, won’t be the biggest, but it will offer the chain’s standard 120 gas stations, clean restrooms, and a huge convenience store full of knick-knacks, fudge, BBQ, kolaches, and the signature Beaver Nuggets.

Buc-ee’s said it expected to create at least 200 jobs in the area with starting wages well above the minimum wage, full benefits, 6%, corresponding to 401k, and three weeks of paid vacation.

Buc-ee’s says it currently has 44 stores in Texas and the South, including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina and Tennessee. Buc-ees will soon open travel centers in Colorado and Missouri.
