BrightStar Care Hires New Director of Marketing; Addus and Pennant make changes to their councils
BrightStar Care appoints new chief marketing officer
BrightStar Care has promoted Teresa Selmer to Chief Marketing Officer.
Prior to her appointment, she served as the company’s senior vice president of marketing since 2019.
“I am thrilled to take up the position of Director of Marketing for BrightStar Care and I am well positioned to continue to lead the BrightStar Care marketing team with passion and tenacity,” Selmer said in a press release. “From the beginning, I have been committed to BrightStar Care’s mission to improve lives and am ready to continue to push the brand forward through creative and innovative channels.”
Based in Chicago, BrightStar Care is a home care and nursing franchise with over 370 locations nationwide. The company provides medical and non-medical services to clients at home, as well as additional care staff for corporate clients.
In his new role, Selmer will be responsible for the overall strategy and execution of all marketing programs and initiatives within BrightStar Group Holdings, which includes BrightStar Care, BrightStar Senior Living and BrightStar Care Homes.
In addition, Celmer will strengthen the B2B consumer brand and the employer brand.

Prior to joining BrightStar Care, Zelmer was Brand Director of Consumer Marketing at Ace Hardware.
Addus gets a new board member
Addus HomeCare Corporation (Nasdaq: ADUS) announced that Heather Dixon has been added to the company’s board of directors as an independent member of the board of directors.
Dixon takes the seat on the board of directors previously held by Steven Geringer. She will be a member of the audit committee.

Heather has extensive financial and strategic experience in leading healthcare and wellness companies that complements the work and experience of other members of our board of directors.”
Frisco, Texas-based Addus currently provides home care services to approximately 46,500 consumers at 202 locations in 22 states.
Dixon is currently the CFO of Everside Health, a primary care provider. Prior to joining Everside Health, she was Senior Vice President, Global Controller and Chief Accountant for Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc. (Nasdaq: WBA).
In addition, Dixon is also an independent member of the Board of Directors of Signify Health (NYSE: SGFY).
Pennant Makes Board Changes
Pennant Group Inc. (Nasdaq: PNTG) appointed Barry Smith as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Brent Gerisoli as a member.
Pennant, based in Idaho, is a holding company of independent operating subsidiaries with a network of 95 home care agencies and hospices and 49 senior communities located throughout the United States.
Smith has been on Pennant’s board of directors since 2021. He previously served as Chairman and CEO of Magellan Health Inc., a provider of mental health and pharmacy benefit management services. He succeeded Daniel Walker, who has served as the company’s chairman since 2019.
Brent Gerisoli is currently the CEO of Pennant.
“In my more than ten years at Pennant, I have had the opportunity to lead an individual operation, cluster, market and company, and support a service center,” Guerisoli said in a press release. “At every step of my journey at Pennant, I have seen the incredible impact of individual leaders united by our mission, culture and how we operate. Executive Home Care Promotes New Brand President
Executive Home Care has named its former Senior Vice President of Franchise Operations Kevin Porter to the position of Brand President. He first joined the company’s management in June 2022.
As Brand President, Porter will be responsible for the strategic direction and overall performance of Executive Home Care.

Executive Home Care is a personal care and companion care company. The company currently has over 20 franchise locations across the country.
New Chief Revenue Officer Joins Homethrive
Homethrive has hired Patrick Tuchig as the company’s Chief Revenue Officer.
“Pat is one of the most creative, inquisitive and diligent colleagues I have ever worked with,” Dave Jacobs, co-founder and co-CEO of Homethrive, said in a press release. “We strongly believe in the need to support family caregivers and Pat is the right person to help us accelerate awareness and acceptance around the world.”
Homethrive is a high-tech provider of non-medical care management and personal assistance services. The company’s social worker staff provides clients with a comprehensive senior care plan, as well as coaching, personal assistance and concierge services.
The company serves the private benefit market, long-term care insurance companies, and Medicare Advantage plans.
Overall, Homethrive is strengthening its leadership team. Karan Chawla, a former Uber (NYSE: UBER) executive, recently joined the company as Chief Product Officer.
