Bills vs. Jets injury update: Buffalo gets some good news ahead of road game vs. AFC East rival

Orchard Park, N.Y. — Buffalo Bills safety Jordan Poyer re-injured his elbow in last week’s game against the Green Bay Packers and the team is already ruling him out for Sunday’s AFC East showdown with the New York Jets.

But there is some good news.

Linebacker Von Miller, who’s been dealing with an ankle injury this week, didn’t practice on Wednesday or Thursday, bringing his status into question after suffering the injury against the Packers. He was a full participant on Friday, however, and has no injury designation for the game.

Bills Mafia can breathe a huge sigh of relief.

The Bills had a pretty clean injury report last week ahead of the Packers game but a few key starters have been dealing with some nicks. Matt Milano has an oblique injury and Spencer Brown missed last game with an ankle injury he suffered against the Kansas City Chiefs before the bye. Both were limited on Friday and are listed as questionable to play against the Jets.

The Jets have struggled on offense this season despite getting out to a 5-3 start. Quarterback Zach Wilson has thrown just three touchdown passes in five games and the Bills have allowed just seven on the season in seven games.

Tremaine Edmunds has been dealing with a heel injury but he practiced in full on Friday and has no injury designation, either. He’ll be good to go for Sunday.

Tre’Davious White had his busiest week of practice yet and seemed to be a full go on Friday. McDermott had ruled him out early in the week the last two weeks the Bills had a game but he said that they’re still waiting to see how White responds before doing so for Sunday. White could make his season debut at MetLife Stadium.

The Jets are generally healthy and coach Robert Saleh only ruled out one player for Sunday – wide receiver Corey Davis. Exciting rookie running back Breece Hall suffered a season-ending torn ACL and second-year interior offensive linemen Alijah Vera-Tucker was lost for the season with a torn triceps injury.
