Bills’ Josh Allen ran off field on Friday when media arrived at practice, is questionable vs. Vikings

Orchard Park, N.Y. — Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen practiced on Friday for the first time this week on a limited basis and is officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s home game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Allen was on the field when the media entered the field house following practice, but when he saw the group walking in he quickly picked up some equipment off the turf and made a beeline for a door into the facility. Watch the clip below, courtesy of Jon Scott from Spectrum News Buffalo.

Bills coach Sean McDermott said this afternoon that there was a chance Allen could practice as the team continues to evaluate his elbow injury. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said earlier this week that it’s a sprained UCL in the throwing elbow.

McDermott said that it’s been an hour-by-hour approach with Allen to see how he’s been responding throughout the week.

“As he goes through these different tests, medically, making sure that he’s able to check the boxes in a progression to where we can see if we can proceed through the course of the day here,” he said.

If Allen can’t play on Sunday, McDermott said the Bills have planned for that possibility throughout the week.

“I think the other thing you have to layer in now is potential for weather come game day,” McDermott said. “And here we go with that in terms of that could be the case for the rest of the season. So we do the best we can. At the end of the day, Josh needs to be Josh, if he’s able to play. And if Case (Keenum) plays, then Case needs to be Case and run the offense.”
