Antioch man arrested after allegedly stabbing a pregnant woman and two children

A 37-year-old East Bay man was taken into custody Saturday in connection with the stabbing of a pregnant woman and two children in Antioch, police said.

All three victims were taken to the hospital with injuries, two of them are still in critical condition, according to ABC7. The man is reportedly charged with attempted murder.

Antioch police were called to the 100th block of Wilbur Avenue shortly before 4:00 pm Saturday, reports the Chronicle. 911 was reported to have been stabbed on the spot. When the police arrived, authorities said they saw a car leaving the area and followed it.

The car then apparently crashed in Solano County and officers took into custody the suspect, who is an Antioch resident but whose identity has not been released.

Meanwhile, other officers at the scene in Antioch provided immediate first aid to three victims with stab wounds, ABC7 reported. The victims included a 35-year-old pregnant woman, a 14-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl. Two of the victims are in critical condition, but the authorities did not say which ones.

The police are still investigating the crime, and at the moment there are no details about the incident.
