Allen, TX – Allen ISD has been under cyberattack and their employees’ social security numbers might be compromised, Allen ISD Superintendent Robin Bullock announced in an email Friday afternoon.
At this point of the investigation remains unclear how many students and/or staff were affected by the cyberattack, but once the Allen ISD has any results, will notify those affected.
The officials with the district confirmed that the attack took place on September 20 and the school district experienced disrupted district networks, devices and online activities for a day.
Since the cyberattack, hackers have attempted to extort the district for millions of dollars, and the district has been trying to deal with the aftermath.
Once additional details are available, we will update the case.
No more information was given after the initial investigation.
