Allegheny Health Network appoints new president
Allegheny Health Network COO James Benedict has been named President of the Pittsburgh Health System.
According to a March 17 press release, Mr. Benedict’s appointment is effective immediately.
He brings a wealth of experience to the role.
In 2017, he joined Allegheny Health Network as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.
He then moved to Highmark Health, the parent company of Allegheny Health Network, where he helped develop the Living Health organization model, according to a press release. Late last year, Mr. Benedict returned to his position as Chief Operating Officer of Allegheny Health Network.
Allegheny Health Network, a health care system with 14 hospitals, is a Pittsburgh-based Highmark Health affiliate in Western Pennsylvania.
