According to NYPD witnesses, a man was stabbed to death and beaten with a bat on Queens Street.

The man was seriously injured when he was beaten with a bat and repeatedly stabbed on a Queens street on Friday afternoon, police said.

According to police and witnesses, the beating took place between two parked cars on 48th Street near 47th Avenue in Sunnyside around 3:50 p.m.

“He tried to kill him,” said 34-year-old witness Abel Sevilla. “After he beat him, he stabbed him at least three times in the body and once in the face.”

“He was bleeding very heavily,” Sevilla said.

The unidentified man, believed to be in his 30s, received five stab wounds to his body, police said. Medics rushed him to the Elmhurst Hospital Center, where he was in critical condition.

According to eyewitnesses, the victim was accompanied by a woman. “The woman was screaming and crying,” Sevilla said.

The police later escorted the attacker out of a nearby building, Sevilla said. Police said one person involved in the case has been arrested.
