A sinkhole closes off Freeway 5 north of Western Avenue in Glendale.

The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert closing all southbound lanes on South Highway 5 north of Western Avenue in Glendale because chunks of concrete were falling from a funnel on an overpass onto the freeway.

Traffic will be redirected to the west.
