A popular Tex-Mex restaurant in the Houston area has been robbed at several locations, according to the owner.

Surveillance video shows the man bursting through the office window, climbing through the glass, looking into the safe and taking the money.

SPRING, Texas. The popular Tex-Mex restaurant in the Houston area has again been targeted by thieves.

Gringo Mexican Kitchen said its I-45 office in the spring was burglarized early Saturday morning.

Surveillance video shows how the man breaks the office window, climbs through the glass, saws through the safe and takes the money.

“What we realized again was another disservice to our community,” said Gringo marketing director Heather McKeon.

The video is almost identical to the recent hack of their Cypress office.

“We firmly believe that these are the same people, judging by the footage from our camera. They were in and out of our restaurant within 7 minutes,” McKeon said.

She said they plan to go cashless at the restaurant from Monday. A change they were also forced to make to the Cypress location.

Restaurant owner Russell Ybarra, shared his disappointment on Twitter Saturday.

The tweet is similar to the one Ybarra shared after the Cypress burglary that caught the attention of Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

McKeon emphasized that they do not believe this is an inside job.

“When you have glass windows, you have alarm systems, you work with local authorities, but they can only do so much when you have 7 minutes and these guys know what they are doing, they come with a purpose.” she said.

She said the wave of hacks made them think about cashless payments across the board.

“We have responded to two local strikes so far, perhaps at a time when we will need to act preemptively,” McKeon said.

The restaurant has a message for other business owners in the area.

“They are there. As for other restaurateurs, they should think the same, take precautions for their team members, because these guys are ruthless,” McKeon said.
