A podcast host and her husband are killed in Washington state by a Texas man who stalked a woman, police say.

The Washington State podcast host and her husband were killed early Friday by a Texas truck driver who was chasing a woman, police said.

talking to reportersRedmond Police Chief Darrell Lowe called the murders “the absolute worst outcome for a stalking case.”

“This is the worst nightmare of every victim, every detective, every police chief,” he said.

Authorities believe the shooter, 38-year-old Ramin Hodakaramrezai, broke into the couple’s home in Redmond, about 15 miles northeast of Seattle, through a window around 2 a.m. The mother of the woman ran away from home and went to the neighbors to call 911.

When police arrived, Redmond police spokeswoman Jill Green said they found the woman’s 35-year-old husband with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The police performed artificial respiration on the man, but he died from his injuries. The 33-year-old woman was found dead in the house along with the shooter. Green said the shooter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The victims have not been identified.

Lowe said the woman and the suspect met through a social networking app in a Farsi group.

Apparently, he met her because of the podcast that she hosted, and they struck up some kind of friendship, talked, ”said Green. “

The woman first contacted the Redmond Police Department in December and again in January as the suspect’s activities “intensified” according to Lowe.

At one point, Low said, she reported more than 100 “contacts” with a man in one day. He showed up in person and mailed gifts and other items, Lowe said.

The victims had installed CCTV cameras and did “everything they could” to protect themselves, he said.

Lowe said he was briefed on the case earlier this week.

King County District Court records show that on March 2, the same day a court order for his arrest was issued, Hodakaramrezai was charged with one count of petty stalking and two counts of telephone harassment.

According to the documents, on March 3, a judge issued a temporary protection order against Khodakaramrezaya and scheduled a hearing to issue a full order.

Khodakaramrezai, who was not present at the hearing, was ordered to hand over his weapons. Greene said that because the shooter lived in Texas, the officers could not serve him with the order “because we were unable to contact him.”

Police do not know how long he was in Washington before the shooting.

“It’s just so unfortunate that the persecution ended in such a tragic way,” Greene said.
