A couple say yes in the middle of a busy Houston airport terminal

HOUSTON. The story was made on Monday morning at Hobby airport when the happy couple tied the knot in the terminal. It was the first wedding at an airport in Houston.
The busy Southwest Terminal provided the backdrop for a special day for Lara Mark and US Navy Commander Silas Hensley.
Travelers were able to get up close and personal with love in the lobby.
“This is an airport wedding,” said Ella Ghika. “The airport (was) operational. We didn’t close the airport, we still (had) incoming planes. We (were) leaving planes.
The marriage was sealed with a kiss in a place that – after four years of long distance relationship – made sense.
“Whether it was a transfer or a missed flight, it was a huge part of our lives,” Hensley said of the venue.
Every part of the wedding was beautifully staged by Houston’s airports, from cake to champagne to music. Their first dance was a memory that even strangers penetrated.
Of course, the party couldn’t end without the tossing of the bride’s bouquet, which airport workers and travelers were able to join in, hoping to break the luck.
“What a wonderful group of people to celebrate,” Mark said.
The best part of an airport wedding? The couple quickly reached the gate to begin their honeymoon.
