A burglar points a gun at a teller at a Carmel Valley bank; leaves with cash

A man pointed a gun at a cashier and robbed a bank in the Carmel Valley on Tuesday morning, March 21, a San Diego police officer said.

According to officer Sarah Foster, the robbery took place shortly after 9 a.m. at the Chase Bank on Del Mar Heights Road, a few blocks east of Interstate 5.

According to her, the robber took an unknown amount of cash and left.

Foster said the man was described as being black, about 6 feet tall and weighing 250 pounds. He was wearing a black shirt and blue jeans.

Robbery detectives from the San Diego Police are investigating.
