A 71-year-old woman died in Arlington after she was hit by a truck on Sunday evening.
A 71-year-old woman was killed Sunday morning after Arlington police said she was hit by a pickup truck in the 8100 block of South Cooper Street.
Police arrived at the scene around 3:17 a.m. and found the woman lying unconscious in the southern lanes, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The woman, who was dressed in dark clothes and went outside without using the signpost, was hit by a Dodge Ram 1500, police said. no criminal charges related to the accident.
Police said it was not clear why the woman ended up on the road. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the woman’s identity after her next of kin are notified.
Police said pedestrians should always use marked crosswalks and follow traffic lights when crossing the roadway, especially at night.
