A 64-year-old woman is thrown to the floor during a wild purse theft in Brooklyn

Police said on Thursday that a 64-year-old woman was thrown to the floor and the heartless con man who stole her handbag in the lobby of an apartment building in Brooklyn slammed the door.

The victim was walking through a lobby on E. 34th Street near Church Avenue in East Flatbush when a robber approached her from behind and grabbed her purse around 6:40 a.m. Sunday, police said.

The two fought over the bag, but the burglar won, police said. He ripped the purse from her shoulder and pushed the woman to the ground outside the lobby door. He then left the building, slamming the door on her feet, police said.

Police have released surveillance footage of what authorities say a man threw a 64-year-old woman to the ground during a brutal robbery in Brooklyn.

Medics took the woman to Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center with minor injuries to her back and legs.

In the stolen purse, the woman had about $80, credit cards and ID.

The assailant was last seen heading north on Church Avenue, police said.

Police have released surveillance footage of the suspect running away in the hope that someone will identify him.

He is described as white or Hispanic with black hair, wearing sunglasses, a surgical mask, black pants, and a green bubble coat.
