6 Western New York Hospitals Spend Public Funds on Expansion

New York Governor Katie Hochul recently gave $49.6 million to health care organizations in Western New York. Buffalo News reported February 15.

Here are six hospitals that are spending money on expansion projects:

  1. Bertrand Chaffee Hospital: The Springville hospital will use funds to build a third floor.
  2. Buffalo Community Health Center: Buffalo Medical Center plans to use the funds to open a new clinic in Lackawanna.
  3. Cuba Memorial Hospital (New York): The hospital will use funds to upgrade its generator and renovate skilled nurses.
  4. Endeavor Health Services: The Cheektowaga-based behavioral health provider plans to use the funds to purchase a two-story substance use disorder clinic and psychiatric clinic.
  5. Kaleida Health: The Buffalo-based system is investing in building telemedicine services at its children’s hospital and refurbishing facilities to increase the number of ventilator beds available to patients.
  6. UPMC Chautauqua: UPMC Chautauqua of Jamestown plans to use the funds to expand its surgical services.
