49ers fans enjoy a wildcard dry game against the Seahawks followed by a downpour after the game

SANTA CLARA, CA (KGO) — 49ers fans enjoyed a mostly dry day at Levi’s Stadium ahead of the team’s playoff game against the Seahawks on Saturday.

Fans after the game were ecstatic not only for staying dry, but also for the 49ers’ victory.

Levi’s Stadium saw a frantic bustle of people in jackets and ponchos as the fans left after the 49ers’ victory.

“I was ready. And, thank God, the weather was very good,” said Janet Storz.

The fans we spoke to who left the stadium say they didn’t even have to wear a raincoat during the game.

“You know if it rains, it rains. You know we can’t control it. Everything just worked. Worked all day. It was great,” Storz said.

Fans say there were fears in the morning when it rained heavily, but the skies cleared up right before the start of the match, which made the atmosphere of the game pleasant.

They can even be called lucky, because when the game ended, it was raining in the parking lot, people dispersed to their cars.

It still didn’t dampen their spirits.

“I came with a poncho. I came in a tracksuit and down jacket. And I came with the thought: “It’s going to rain, so have fun,” said Duane Simmons.

Simmons says he was initially nervous about the rain. But he also said that he was lucky that he did not have to endure it during the game.

“It started drizzling. It started a little harder. After that it stopped.” he said.

He hopes the rain will clear the way for the 49ers to make the playoffs.

“I have plans to go to the Super Bowl. I have the next one, and the next one, and the Super Bowl. Keep the faith. Stay strong. Go Niners,” Simmons said.

With this win, the 49ers will play another home game here at Levy Stadium next week.

Fans are hoping next week’s game will showcase the California sun.
